New Software Company Needle.com: Customer Testimonials on Steroids

Now this is a cool idea…live chat with customers who know and love the products or services the company is selling…

Needle’s home page describes it this way, “The ‘Fan-Sourcing’ sales platform that drives conversion on your site.  Enthusiastic, informed fans of your products are waiting to convert your visitors via Needle’s next generation video, chat, and voice platform.”

Check out www.Needle.com, founded by the former CEO of LogoWorks.

I’m not paid in any way to tell you about this.   I just think it’s a win-win for consumers and the ecommerce sites that are brave enough to try this.

The premise for this new Needle tool/service is so simple and brilliant…it’s integrating the voices of brand fans (your customers) on your website to explain (and sell) the products/services you offer.  They say, “Needle is about giving consumers the ability to find the perfect item online at the right time. It’s about using precise expert information to give consumers guidance. It’s about increasing the efficiency of the online shopping experience and moving the Needle for e-commerce sites.”

I remember being invited to test drive a Corvette at the San Diego stadium parking lot at an invitation-only event and instead of a sales person driving around with me, they had members of the Corvette Club in the passenger’s seat.  The woman who went out with me was bubbling over with praise and details and benefits of why I should buy a Corvette.  She was perhaps a bit too zealous but she was credible and more enjoyable to talk to than a Corvette sales person.  I asked her what Corvette had offered her to be there to do this and she said the Corvette Club members got an hour on the course first.  Needle is taking this idea of brand fans as sales people to scale with live chat that connects prospective customers with brand fans.  Customer testimonials on steroids!

Great idea for their “about us” page.  They tell a story…
